Gray’s HRP 2017 in 25 minutes

What an epic summer! I’m no movie director, but here ya go . Warning – it’s a bit long (25 minutes) but if you like hiking at all, it does kinda go by fast.

Enjoy!

This video I threw together gives a taste of what I experienced on my 53-day trek of the Haute Route Pyrenees. I set out solo from Hendaye on June 20th and arrived in Banyuls sur Mer on August 12th.

I hope to provide some more stats and other resources for anyone considering doing this route, as well as a few stories and memories during this unbelievable adventure.

Everything in this video was shot on a GoPro I lugged around. When I got home I just dumped everything onto a computer (almost two hours of clips) and then I synched it all to some tunes. I’m not the best at editing but I tried to do justice to the awesomeness of this journey.

I’ll eventually post all the still shots I took as well.

Welcome to the Site

I’ve wanted to dedicate a space for myself on the web for some time; a site where I could record my travel experiences. When the drudgery of a day-to-day routine gets me down, I have this site I can turn to. I welcome you to join me in the process detailing and reflecting on the the journeys I’ve undertaken – most impressively, the Haute Route Pyrenees (HRP). The HRP was the first of its kind for me, and I still think about it daily. Who knows, I may never fully adjust back to my normal life in Los Angeles, or in the United States. The journey gave me plenty to think about. I have so much content to share and it seemed a bit beyond the acceptable bounds of how much you’re allowed to bombard typical social media outlets . So I’m using this website to to make all of it available for anyone interested; impressions, preparation and other logistical info – stats, resources, observations and other things about my past trips.

I really got into a rhythm as I acclimated to life in the Pyrenees

These journeys have changed who I am. Each one brings up new questions and ideas that will take a great deal of time for me to sort out.

So, until I’m able to put more time aside and upload everything, I’ll just share a video of the journey.
